Admiralty Environmental LLC is an Alaskan-owned small business that offers water and wastewater consultation and sampling services throughout Alaska. The company owners, Mr. David Wetzel and Ms. Diana Cote, have over 10 years of experience each in environmental testing, sampling, project management, consulting, resource management and accounting in both the private and public sector.
The focus of our expertise is on water and wastewater systems from cruise ship companies, effluent monitoring for wastewater discharges for NPDES permit holders, and technical support for drinking water systems. Admiralty Environmental is one of Southeast Alaska’s largest providers of certified water and wastewater sampling and environmental consulting services.
Mr. David A. Wetzel, Owner and President

David has more than 10 years of environmental consulting experience, including seven years as project manager for the North West CruiseShip Association sampling and analysis program for large cruise ships sailing in Alaska waters. David oversees a wide variety of large-scale environmental projects for the cruise line industry, municipalities, and private wastewater management facilities.
His technical knowledge and understanding of what constitutes effective wastewater management are the foundation of Admiralty Environmental’s client services. This, coupled with his regulatory experience, including interactions with the State of Alaska, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the US Navy, enables Admiralty Environmental to successfully manage everything from large cruise ship sampling and analysis to municipal permit review.
After his tenure in environmental laboratory management, David sought to become more involved in partnering with stakeholders to uphold environmental compliance and stewardship. He founded Admiralty Environmental in 2005 to provide effective consulting services to help clients achieve these goals. His focus grew out of his appreciation for the complicated environmental issues in Alaska and for the unique challenges that each client must face. This focus continues to be at the core of Admiralty Environmental’s mission.
Ms. Diana L. Cote, Owner and Vice President
Diana has over 10 years of experience in resource management and finance in the public sector through her position as Executive Director of the Alaska Boards of Fisheries and Game. From 1995 through 2006, Diana provided policy direction and administration of the boards’ regulatory processes, including final publication of the state regulations pertaining to the use of fisheries and wildlife. Diana supervised the regional offices for the boards and trained incoming board members, as well as acting as liaison with the scientific staff of the Department of Fish and Game.
Through her work with the Boards of Fisheries and Game, as well as through leadership positions in various nonprofits such as the University of Alaska’s Alumni Association, Diana has worked effectively with the state’s legislature in building budgets and shaping projects that benefit those organizations. Diana has lived in Alaska for 25 years, and has developed an appreciation of the state’s great resources, as well as an interest in providing services to help clients maintain successful environmental programs.
